Hanover Police officers were monitoring a hallway at the unnamed hotel upon the owner’s request following the ongoing reports of suspicious activity when possible drug paraphernalia was seen outside a room on Oct. 28, authorities said in a Tuesday release.
The officers then heard an alarm going off and confirmed through the hotel’s front desk that a trouble alarm had been received from one of the rooms, prompting a response from fire crews, police said.
Thomas Del Vecchio, 65, of South Hackensack answered the door when confronted by officers, who entered the room after seeing drugs and paraphernalia in plain sight.
A search of the hotel room and a second occupied room led to Del Vecchio and the following seven individuals being charged with various offenses ranging from distribution of heroin and crack cocaine and being under the influence of CDS to possession of hypodermic needles, prescription drugs, hindering, destroying evidence and possession of an instrument to defraud the administration of a drug test:
- Kyle Marosevitch, 24, of Rahway
